Hello artists, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Class expectations for this week & homework assigned at this time:
AP STUDIO ART -
TAKE HOME QUIZ on chapters 6 & 7 is DUE ON JANUARY 3rd.
INTERIOR/EXTERIOR or FIGURE ARTWORK DUE ON THURSDAY, January 5th.
SIX MORE CONCENTRATION SKETCHES DUE ON Friday, January 13th.
PAST DUE: CONCENTRATION ESSAY AND SIX SKETCHES. In a 2 page essay, explain your idea for your concentration. How will you carry this idea through 12 artworks? How can it show growth and development? How can it make you a stronger artist? (This was due on December 22.)
GRAPHIC DESIGN 1 -
Students are working on the Product LOGO DESIGN. The logo research component is due on Wednesday, Jan. 4th.
DRAWING 1 -
Students are working on the value unit. The Shaded Shape piece is past due. Students are finishing the torn paper self-portraits and moving onto the paper curls and bottle drawings.
PAINTING 1 & 2 –
Painting 1 students are working on 2 projects. The first is a high relief duplication of a master work. They will be layering the paintings with modeling paste. As the layers dry, they will be arranging and painting a vanitas still-life of objects that have symbolic meaning.
Painting 2 is creating an expressive self-portrait in water-soluble oil paint.
